Showing Up When It’s Hard
Becoming HER – Week 7
This week wasn’t what I planned. Honestly, it wasn’t even close.
I didn’t film much. I didn’t weigh in. I didn’t have the energy to show up on camera the way I usually do. Emotionally, I felt low. Losing my car threw off my routine and honestly, it shook my spirit more than I expected. But what I did do… was show up. In small, quiet, intentional ways.
And that’s what I want to talk about this week — showing up when it’s hard.
Small Wins Still Count
On Sunday, I stayed home from church because I didn’t have a way to get there — but that didn’t stop me from tuning in online, spending time in devotion, and meal prepping for the week. I chopped up veggies, baked chicken, and made chia pudding for my breakfasts. It might not have felt like much at the time, but looking back, it was everything.
That was me choosing to care for myself — even in sadness.
Moving Through It (Literally)
Even when my spirit felt heavy, I still moved my body.
I completed:
A lower body session
Push day
Pull day
A quick HIIT workout
Was I hyped for any of them? No. But I showed up. Sometimes our strongest workouts aren’t the ones we’re smiling through — they’re the ones we cry before, or halfway through, or after. I had a few of those.
Grace Over Perfection
Wednesday was my breaking point. I filmed a talking head video just to be honest: I wasn’t okay. I was tired, frustrated, overwhelmed — and I told the camera (and myself) the truth. And in the middle of it, I thanked the amazing women who supported me by purchasing my new “Let’s Go” shirt. That gesture meant more than you know. It reminded me that people are watching, cheering, and praying for me.
If you’re one of them — thank you. Seriously.
The Work Behind the Scenes
I even tried to bring y’all along during my 9–5. I work full-time in HR and Facilities, and while I wasn’t sure it fit the vibe of the episode, I left it in. Because this is my life. My journey isn’t just workouts and smoothies — it’s work calls, hallway chats, cleaning my room, and trying to figure out how to keep it together when I feel like falling apart.
Saturday, I started rearranging my space. Cleaning, organizing, resetting. It was my way of taking back control. And while I didn’t finish filming it all, I’m proud that I even started.
What I’m Learning
This journey isn’t linear. It’s not perfect. But every time I show up, even in the smallest way, I’m becoming HER — the woman I pray to be.
I’ve learned that low moments don’t mean failure. They mean we’re human. And healing. And growing.
They’re just part of the story.
So, if you're feeling off track, unmotivated, or just plain tired — you're not alone.
Let’s keep showing up. Together.
